The community of Boukan Province, in northern Iran, is home to the shortest man in the world today. Afshin Ismail Ghadirzadeh, 20 years old, whose height was recognized in the Guinness Book of Records for the year 2022, with a height of 65 cm, and he is the fourth shortest man ever recorded in the history of the company specializing in records.

According to Guinness, the young man weighs about 6.5 kg and is about 7 cm shorter than the previous record holder, Edward “Nino” Hernandez from Colombia. Because of his size, he wears custom-made clothes and admits that holding a cell phone for a long time is an expensive exercise.

Ismail’s height and weight were confirmed after a series of measurements carried out in Dubai, at one of the Guinness offices. Please note Company fees for acknowledgment of records🇧🇷

Use fame for good

For an Iranian, who needs treatment and constant use of medication, the expectation is that his new status as the world’s shortest man will help him help his parents make ends meet.

He told Guinness: “My dream is to be able to help my parents. This global recognition can help me achieve my dream.”

Weakness and continued treatment made it impossible for Afshin to go to schools and get a job. His dream was to follow in his father’s footsteps as a civil construction worker.

Suits and cell phones

As a hobby, the young man spends most of his days watching cartoons and browsing social media.

“Cell phones in general are heavy for me to use for a long time, but I still manage,” Afshin said.

An Iranian is known to the people of his community as a man with a popular and open personality. Despite this, he made it clear that he would like to live experiences that he cannot live, especially driving a car.

One of the difficulties that the shortest man in the world faces is finding clothes. The only pieces Afshin can use are those made for children. However, as a 20-year-old man, he’s not a fan of baby designs, which has led him to wear tailored suits.

Guinness World Records Editor-in-Chief Craig Glenday says it was an honor “to meet Afshin and confirm him as the world’s shortest adult man”.

“Judging by the enthusiasm he showed during his visit to Dubai, he is more than ready to capitalize on it big success And it becomes a household name,” Craig said.
