A 9-year-old girl died after being infected with lice without treatment. The accident occurred in Tucson, USA. According to local media KGUN TV The Fire Department arrived at the scene after an emergency call to 911 regarding an unconscious minor.

Upon the arrival of the authorities, they realized that the girl had no vital signs and that resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful. So the girl was sentenced to death. According to the emergency team, after the girl’s death, “large numbers of insects started covering her face.”

“After careful examination, it was found that there was a large number of lice in her hair,” the team said.

Case investigation

according to law and crime information, The girl’s mother, Sandra Krajkovic, 38, said her daughter is anemic and has been sick since March 15. The woman said the minor had a headache, sore throat, fever, shortness of breath and problems maintaining balance.

According to text messages recovered by the police, it was revealed that the minor’s mother and grandmother, Elizabeth Krajkovic (who took care of her when the mother was away), chose not to go to the doctor for her daughter’s treatment. . This is because the little girl got a lice infection.

After the investigation was opened, the minor’s brother claimed that the mother had tried to stop the infection with mouthwash.

In one of the messages, the minor’s mother, Elizabeth, threatened to call 911 due to her granddaughter’s health condition. However, I dropped out because “[a menina] You can’t go to the emergency room with your hair, but you leave it to me because you’re not home.”

According to the police, Sandra admitted in an interview with the police that “if she had sought medical attention, she would probably have survived.”

Legal guardians arrested

After the results, Elizabeth and Sandra Krajkovic were arrested and charged with first-degree murder. The autopsy indicated that the minor’s death was due to “anemia caused by an untreated louse infection accompanied by malnutrition as a contributing factor. This is the cause.”

It was also indicated that the girl suffers from “fluid accumulation in the lung tissues, pallor of the skin and organs, liver necrosis and iron deficiency.”

The victim’s siblings, aged 11 and 13 respectively, were handed over to other family members, indicating that they were also suffering from a serious lice infection.
