2022 around the world: fireworks celebrate the coming of the new year in Taiwan, Thailand, Australia and the United Arab Emirates | Globalism
3 min readIt’s already 2022 in countries across Asia and Oceania, and the new year has quietly fallen in many places due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, a celebration was marked by fireworks at the iconic Burj Khalifa skyscraper, the tallest building in the world.

In Asia, concerts have been canceled or performed in smaller versions. in Tokyo, in JapanFor example, ceremonies were banned in the Shibuya region. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida urged people to wear masks and limit the number of visits at home.
In Thailand, the New Year was greeted with fireworks over the Chao Phraya River.

In South Korea, a bell-ringing ceremony has been canceled for the second year in a row. The government recently expanded the rules for social distancing.
employment China There have been cancellations for the holiday season. In Hong Kong, the New Year was greeted with an LED light display on a panel about 70 meters high.

In Indonesia, not only are parties expected, but 11 roads are closed. In North Korea, Kim Jong Un’s regime prioritized playing the national anthem and raising the state flag before a fireworks display.
In Taiwan, fireworks were set off in rainy weather in Taipei.

There was no official fireworks display in Auckland, New ZealandaBy 2022. The country put up a light show instead of fireworks.

There was a traditional scene in Australia, with fireworks near Sydney Harbor and the city’s Opera House.
Australians lined up to ensure a good spot to watch the fireworks. Prime Minister Scott Morrison said they should enjoy the evening. See the video below:
The fireworks display marks the arrival of 2022 in Australia
In countries such as France, UK and Malaysia, where there are usually fireworks in iconic buildings such as the Arc de Triomphe, Big Ben and Petronas Towers, respectively, there will be no parade.
There will be an event in New York, but with a limited audience – the audience will be equal to 25% of the volume of traditional capacity in Times Square, where New Year’s parties are held. To enter, you will need to show proof of vaccination, wear a mask and respect social distance.
