And while many people forgot the money in the bank, millions became frustrated with the small amounts or nothing at all. In this first phase, about 13.8 million people had as much as 1 R$ of forgotten money to receive. Meanwhile, 364,800 have between 1 and 10,000 R$ to withdraw. Already 36,000 can withdraw between R$10,000 and R$100,000. Finally, the last group, which is worth more than 100 thousand Brazilian reais, consists of 1,318 people.
Although many people were disappointed, there is still a chance to gain more important values. In the second stage of the system, other types of forgotten money remaining in financial institutions will be available.
Therefore, from May, the user will be able to make an inquiry to see if he has other types of forgotten money. Starting from the beginning of the month, the following features will be added:
- Rates, premiums or commitments related to operations credit incorrectly charged, stipulated or not included in the term of the commitment with the BC;
- Closed and prepaid postpaid accounts with available balance;
- Registration accounts maintained by brokers and securities dealers are closed with an available balance;
- Other cases involving amounts to be returned are recognized by the institutions.
