Caixa calls on workers to withdraw ‘forgotten’ amounts in PIS/Pasep
3 min readCare workers! Caixa Econômica Federal is currently calling on citizens to withdraw forgotten amounts from PIS/Pasep. According to information from the banking institution, more than 10 million Brazilians are entitled to approximately 23 billion Brazilian reais. These values refer to PIS/Pasep stakes.
According to information from CAIXA, workers who conducted some activities with a formal contract between 1971 and 1988 are entitled to receive the value, and in this case many people have died or have already retired. In the event of death, the heirs can withdraw the amount due in the bank.
Therefore, both workers and heirs can contact Caixa and request forgotten funds in their PIS/PASEP accounts.
It is important to stress that the PIS/PASEP shares have been abolished and, as a result, resources have been transferred to the Separation Compensation Fund (FGTS). For this reason, to find out if you are entitled, you need to consult through the FGTS application, without any bureaucracy.
How do you pull?
To withdraw amounts referring to PIS / PASEP shares, the worker must go to the Caixa branch and present an identification document with a photo. Whoever falls in the status of heir, it will be necessary to present his personal document, as well as the death certificate of the worker and proof of his relationship with the deceased family member.
