Pfizer does not rule out the possibility of a multiple vaccine alternatives soon – 04/13/2022
1 min readThe president of the North American Pharmaceutical Company said Wednesday (13) that an effective vaccine against various variants before fall in the northern hemisphere (between September and December) “is a possibility, but not a certainty.” The American Pfizer Company, Albert Burla.
“Hopefully by the fall [boreal] – But it is not certain – we have a vaccine “that is effective” against everything that is known at the time,” Bourla said during a press conference issued by the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Industry Associations (IFPMA) organization.
Pfizer is conducting studies to find out what might be the best formula.
In cooperation with Germany’s BioNTech, the pharmaceutical giant has developed one of the first vaccines against Covid-19. The immune system, which is available in Brazil, began being used in the UK at the end of 2020, less than a year after the disease was first detected in China.
This mRNA vaccine – like Moderna’s – has reduced efficacy against the omicron variant of the virus and its sub-variants, while still providing highly effective protection against severe symptoms, hospitalization and death.
Pfizer is currently testing different vaccines and at different doses. “Once we know the best way forward, we will apply for approval” in the United States, Europe and other parts of the world, he said.
