Robinho’s son wins Interlagos and leads his father to tears in the box | engine

On Saturday, in Interlagos, Fefo Barrichello won race 2 of the F4, a class designed by the FIA to reveal new talents in motorsport. Robinho’s youngest son, the 16-year-old pilot, knew how to withstand the pressure of other competitors to achieve an unprecedented victory in the race. On the other hand, despite all his experience after 19 years in Formula 1, the father did not hide his nervousness during the race and burst into tears with the boy’s achievement.

I spent all these years trying to win in Brazil. And you can imagine that Fefo carries that with him, it’s normal. So seeing him win the temple that is Interlagos and do it on his own, is something that makes me whole as a father, very happy and really proud. Robinho said this victory was achieved by his own work, with the strength he had from the team.

Fefo Barrichello started in pole position, withstood the initial pressure of the competitors and maintained the lead throughout the race. He completed 12 laps of the race in 19d 37s 422, with a 3s 48 advantage over second place. Alvaro Cho, the youngest driver on the grid at just 15 years old, has run a race to recover. The podium was completed by Nick Montero.
The moment of victory in Interlagos is indescribable. The car was perfect, we got a great start. My goal was to get better with every lap and we did. I cried, I laughed, I cried! I’m very happy with that and now it’s time to celebrate this result – said Fefo.

The race won by Barrichello was the second of the day in the F4 class at Interlagos. In the first race, won by championship leader Pedro Clero, with a time of 27: 40.486 for 17 laps, Fefo had problems at the start and dropped from eighth to fifteenth. After re-establishing himself, he beat eight contenders on the penultimate lap and finished seventh.
Vinicius Tesaro finished second, with Nick Montero completing the top spot on the podium today. Race 3 is scheduled for Sunday morning.
