Ambush for Sao Paulo fans at Corinthians U-15 match causes rush in Ribeirão Preto | football
2 min readAn ambush by about 10 fans wearing a Sao Paulo shirt at the Corinthians match, for the Campeonato Paulista U-15 team, caused a rush on Saturday morning, at the CT of the I9 Academy, in Ribeirao Preto.
There were no reports of injuries, and the military police, who were at the scene of the accident, managed to contain five cars. There is no information about the detainees. In the photos (see above), provided by the communications department of Botafogo-SP, fans can be seen holding iron bars in their hands. The match was stopped for 10 minutes.
During the Sub-15 match, between Botafogo and Corinthians, a group of people dressed in organized São Paulo fans, equipped with iron rods and sticks, invaded the area designated for Corinthians fans. Sao Paulo will play later, at 11am, against Corinthians as well, but with an under-17 team.
There were also fans of Ribeirao Preto there. You can see the rush of the parents and the athletes who were watching the match.

According to the father of one of the athletes in Botafogo, who requested anonymity, people with knives said the ambush was announced on social media. Some fans and family members of athletes from other teams tried to dissuade the attackers, but to no avail.
The report called for the position of the Football Association Paulista (FPF), the military police and CT I9, which hosted the matches, and is waiting for a return to reveal more information. The Ribeirão Preto Club base plays games at this location.
