New York Times: Trump Ark finance executive assisted in Trump investigation
2 min readCiting people with knowledge of the matter, the Times reported that the office’s ongoing investigation into Alan Weiselberg, Trump’s top executive, to testify in connection with a state’s arbitral tribunal – a longtime controller of the Trump organization and one of the small committee oversees the company’s financial affairs.
Office spokesmen for Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. and New York Attorney General Ledidia James declined to comment. CNN has approached McCann, Trump organization lawyer Alan Gordon, Weiselberg lawyer Mary Mulligan and Trump organization spokeswoman for comment and confirmation.
Prosecutors are trying to find foreign exchange that could motivate Weiselberg to cooperate with the authorities, those familiar with the investigation told CNN last month that the legal stakes for Trump and his family could rise. This is a common tactic used by lawyers to try to “flip” individuals to help create a case on the corporate ladder. The State Attorney General’s Office has opened a criminal tax investigation in Weiselberg, and Vance’s office is coordinating with James’ office in the criminal investigation in Weinzelberg.
