All areas of mainland Portugal are subject to a yellow warning on Monday due to forecasts of occasional heavy rain, which could be hail and thunder, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
The provinces of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Aveiro, Braganca, Porto, Vila Real and Viseu are under yellow warning until 6 p.m. on Monday due to forecasts of scattered thunderstorms with hail.
The provinces of Beja, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Évora, Faro, Guarda, Leiria, Lisbon, Portalegre, Setúbal and Santarém are subject to a yellow warning until 0:00 on Tuesday due to forecasts of heavy rain at times, which may be hail. Accompanied by thunder and shouting.
A yellow warning is issued by the IPMA when there is a risk situation for certain weather-dependent activities.
The IPMA expects periods of very cloudy skies and strong drizzle at times, possibly hail with thunderstorms and storms, and more intense in the center and south.
The forecast also indicates weak winds in general that prevail from the east, moderate to strong blowing from the southeast in the south, especially in the highlands until late in the morning, and a slight rise in the minimum temperature in the north and center and a decrease in the maximum.
Minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 15°C (in Braganca) and 20 (in Faro, Portalegre and Aveiro) and maximum between 22 (in Guarda) and 31 (in Setúbal and Santarém).
