The UFSC Blumenau campus offers a course in Astronomy and Astrophysics

Have you ever thought about studying astronomy or astrophysics? If so, the opportunity has come because UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina) Campus Blumenau Registration is open for the “Practical Course in Astronomy and Astrophysics”, offered by Professor Eslley Scatena Gonçales.
Classes are held in person and are always held on Wednesdays, from 19:00 to 21:00. To participate in the course, which is free and open to the community in general, all you need is a full elementary school and an interest in the subject matter.
The course aims to introduce the basic concepts of astronomy and astrophysics. Participants will learn about the shape of the Earth, the seasons, the phases of the moon, eclipses, and the motions of the stars. In addition, they will also know how to recognize celestial bodies, classify stars, and understand our place in the universe.
The course will also cover the operation of astronomical observation tools such as binoculars and telescopes, basic astrophotography concepts, as well as how to plan an astronomical observation night. Meetings will be held until December 21.
