a Ukrainian army A Russian helicopter was shot down in the village of Spiner, located in the recently annexed Moscow region of Donetsk. The photos were posted on Monday (31) by a Ukrainian brigade on Telegram.

The 54th Ground Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army used an anti-aircraft missile system to hit the Russian Mi-8 helicopter, which is widely used in enemy military operations in the country.

In the photos, it is possible to see that the plane is flying relatively close to the ground, perhaps to avoid being seen by enemy radars, but it was hit by a missile directly.

Even with the cabin on fire and a lot of black smoke, the pilot is trying to make an emergency landing. It was not revealed whether the Russian crew survived the attack.

In the post’s caption, the downing of the helicopter was called a “wonderful moment” and celebrated “Glory to Ukraine!”.

The authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic, recognized by Russia, said last Saturday (29), that the advance of Russian forces in the region forced the Ukrainian army to withdraw its artillery from the front line of the conflict.
