The insurgents now control 18 of Afghanistan’s 34 provincial capitals.

Four capitals fell recently

Three military bases on the outskirts of the city are still in the hands of the Afghan government.

Another city is Tirin Cote. The governor of Uruzgan province, where Tirin Kot is located, went to Kabul.
The most recent was Pul-e-Alam, the capital of Logar Province, which is located only 50 kilometers south of Kabul. “The Taliban control all government facilities in Buali Alam. There is no more fighting at the moment,” said Saeed Qareebullah al-Sadat, a local government official.
The rebels also entered the towns of Firuz Koh, and claimed to have also captured Nao Fort, but there is still no official confirmation of these locations.

US withdraws diplomats from Kabul
