Moto G42 brings a beautiful OLED display, great battery, and stereo sound | analysis / review

This is a Motorola cell phone with a plastic body and smooth finish. It can be found in Brazil in blue or pink and differs from the top model in the line by having a more rectangular camera block and wider bezels around the screen. The biometric reader is located on the power button on the side and works just fine.

The G42 features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display and a 60Hz OLED panel. The refresh rate is disappointing for the category, considering Motorola has already released lower models with a 90Hz screen. At least the brightness is high, the colors are vibrant, and the viewing angle is quite wide. The stereo sound isn’t the most powerful, but it delivers good sound quality.

This is another mid-range phone with Snapdragon 680 and we have 4GB of RAM to handle multitasking. It’s the same configuration seen in the Moto G52, and like the more advanced model, it also lacks performance with too many apps open at the same time. The battery at least lasts quite a while, but it takes about two hours to recharge it.

The imaging group consists of a 50MP hybrid wide, 8MP blur and 2MP macro camera. The front has a 16-megapixel sensor. Image quality is good, but don’t expect much from HDR. Shooting in the late afternoon will be difficult and will have dark images, while shooting at night will have images with a lot of noise. The camcorder records in Full HD and loses fluidity when shooting from the back and front at the same time.
