The piece will be used in the final part of the Campeonato Pernambucano, and was launched exactly three years after Afogados made history with their shock elimination over Atlético in the second stage of the 2020 Copa do Brasil.
The jersey refers several times to that 2-2 draw in Vianao, which ended up in a penalty shootout victory for the hosts 7-6.
The outfit is blue, black, red and white. Above the shield, an embroidered roast chicken appears, a provocation to Atlético. On the side, the location of the game, the score and the sequence of decisive penalties are stamped.
There are also caps in reference to the penalty saves and runs of the match, the hero of the match, who has become known as the “goalkeeper in a hat”.
In the vertical stripes of the uniform, the logos of social networks, roosters, hats, the Copa Brasil and Cruzeiro shield stars are stamped.
Arch-rival Alvinegro is also mentioned on the back of the shirt. Stars appear in numbers.
Above, another Atlético joke: “The rooster went to the pot,” it says on the back, too.
The piece will be sold for R$100 starting Friday, via the club’s social networks from Pernambuco.
