To reveal its new toy line, the company Mattel He had a great idea to create the animated series “He-Man and the Defenders of the Universe.” The production was originally launched in 1983 and has been very successful on television.

It is produced by Filmation and features the story of Prince Adam, the son of the rulers of Eternia. When he raises his sword and says the words “By Grayskull’s powers!” He transforms into a powerful warrior known as He-Man.

Along with Warrior Cat, Gorpo, Sorceress, and Teela, Adam uses his powers to battle the fearsome Skeletor, a wizard whose goal is to conquer Castle Grayskull, taking control of the entirety of Eternia as well as the universe.

The production became a fever in the 1980s, where it is considered a cult to this day. The idea for the creation came after the He-Man character was released by Mattel in 1983. Contrary to what many people think, the series was based on the game, and not the other way around.

At first, the idea was rejected by the ABC network, but later, in 1983, “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” was shown through syndication, and became an overall success. As a result, Mattel increased the sale of the toys and some of them became rare, becoming collectors’ items.

Photographer Bruno Mora decided to show what a warrior would look like if it were a real person, using the series itself as a basis. The artist achieved a very impressive result.
