2 min readThe increase in influenza cases in recent weeks has led the Goiás Ministry of Health (SES-GO) to anticipate influenza vaccination in the state for about a week. Vaccines will begin to apply on Monday (10), but they are already happening this week. Priority groups will be vaccinated until May 31.

According to the SES, vaccination has been brought forward to Tuesday (4). Of the total 63 cases recorded so far, in 2023, 27 occurred in recent periods. SES-GO also recorded one fatality this year.
The volume stated that the vaccination service is provided in 965 health centers in the state. On the other hand, the Minister of Health of Goiânia (SMS) has stated that he is preparing professionals to apply the vaccine in the capital, and therefore, he still does not have a list of posts and predictions of when the service will be introduced .
The municipality of Aparecida de Goiânia reports that vaccination will be offered in the municipality from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 6 pm, and on Saturday from 6 pm to 1 pm. Vaccination will not take place on holidays and optional points.

The campaign’s priority groups are people aged 60 or over, children aged 6 months to 6 years, health workers, pregnant women, postpartum women, indigenous people, teachers, people with comorbidities, prisoners and adolescents under measures Social – educational.
Some professionals are also priorities, such as public transportation, dock workers, security and rescue forces, the armed forces, and civil servants in the prison system.
The campaign’s goal is to vaccinate 90% of the people who are part of these groups. The target population of Goiás is 2.58 million people.
