There have also been 12 outbreaks of mosquitoes that transmit the disease.

Only in the south of the state, according to the Department of Epidemiological Surveillance (Dive), have eight more cities already confirmed residents infected with dengue. They are: Cocal do Sul, Criciúma, Tubarão, Imbituba, Laguna, São Ludgero, Passo de Torres, and Garopaba.
