On passion! The Warriors beat the Kings to tie the NBA championship series on Sunday. But whoever thinks it was peaceful is mistaken. Even celebrating the decisive victory, a mistake made by Stephen Curry at the end of the match almost changed the outcome of the confrontation. Watch the video!

Foul: Stephen Curry calls timeout, possession flips to Kings, who nearly flips

With the Warriors leading 126-121 with 47.1 seconds left in the game, Curry tried to drop the ball after a Kings miss before he was caught by a double by Harrison Barnes and Devion Mitchell. That’s when Curry looked down the Warriors’ side and called a timeout, even though the team had nothing left.

Curry’s foul culminated in a technical failure, allowing Malik Monk to cross the line for a free throw. On possession, Monk hit one of three to cut the lead to one with 28.1 seconds left in the game. Barnes had a chance to turn the situation around, but missed out on winning three games as time expired.

– When we lost the challenge, I didn’t realize we didn’t have another time limit.[Coach Steve Kerr]took the blame, but I’m not going to lie: I thought it was the smartest move in the world. I looked at the seat and everyone nodded. It was an unfortunate situation – he breathed after Curry’s blunder.

– 100% my fault. I knew we didn’t have any other time limits…that’s on me. I have to remind the players that we don’t have timeouts – that was Coach Steve Kerr’s line.
