Bridgestone lays off 600 employees at Grande SP plant

“This decision is part of an ongoing process of assessing the business and market to ensure the company’s competitiveness and to determine the best allocation of resources,” the company said in the note sent to the press. With this, Bridgestone hopes to improve its “portfolio, operations and culture to continue serving consumer and market needs.”

Regarding cases of mass layoffs, the company warned that it had called on the responsible union to try to “limit the impact” of those directly affected by the decision.
