Santos is interested in signing striker Clayson

Santos is interested in signing 28-year-old striker Clayson. The player who played for Corinthians and Koyaba, currently plays for V-Varen Nagasaki, in Japan’s second division.

Clayson was about to hit Fluminense. The player was at the request of coach Fernando Diniz, but due to the strong refusal of Tricolor Carioca fans, the board ended up paralyzing the negotiations. In turn, Santos sees the arrival of a player who is at the end of his contract in Japan as a good cost benefit and will not come at any cost.

Portal Meu Peixão found that coach Odier Hellmann liked Claesson’s name and that Alvinegro’s idea was to negotiate with striker Lucas Braga in the July window, which would make room for another striker. The information is that Clayson is coming to Sao Paulo so that the negotiations can advance further.

There have already been talks and both the player’s staff and the Santos board are excited about the deal. The player’s salary would be commensurate with that of Santos, and for Clayson, Santos would be a good club for him to regain his space in Brazilian football.

Born in Potocato, in the interior of São Paulo, Clayson was scouted by União São João, also from São Paulo State, and passed through Ituano and Ponte Preta before arriving at Corinthians. At Timão, he had his best year in 2019, when he scored seven goals and provided 10 assists in 62 matches. Before going to Japan, the striker also visited Bahia, Cuiaba and Al Faisaly from Saudi Arabia.
