One UI 6.0 can bring iOS 17 inspired lock screen
2 min readSo far, only a few details are known about One UI 6.0. The only concrete information is that it will launch with Android 14 later this year. However, a new leak brought interesting information.
Apparently, the new version of Samsung’s interface will improve the user interface experience, mainly with better widgets on the lock screen that will work similarly to iOS 17.
According to Twitter user @hyacokr_itnyang, there will be some big changes to the lock screen with One UI 6.0. One of them would be AOD (Always-On Display), which should be inspired by the latest iOS version of the iPhone 14e Pro Max.
This information isn’t entirely new, as other rumors have suggested that One UI 6.0 will pick up on Apple’s idea of letting users use full photos on the Always-on Display.
The second big change could be the lock screen for the new version of One UI with better widgets. Apparently, One UI 6.0 will allow users to use the same widgets from the home screen to the lock screen. The render below was created by a fan to prove it and is not an actual leaked image.
It should be noted that the lock screen widgets are already present in One UI, but they are not the same as the one used by the user on the home screen. It’s for the lock screen, and it has limited information and customization options.
With One UI 6.0, Samsung will be able to allow users to use normal lock screen widgets, making significant improvements to the Always-On Display. More information will appear in the coming weeks, with rumors of the first beta arriving on the Galaxy S23 phones next week.
