Putin discusses attack on Israel – Shiv Telegram Media

Russian President Vladimir Putin has criticized US policy in the Middle East during talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Al-Sudani. Putin believes that the recent attack by Hamas on Israel is a clear example of US policy failure. According to Putin, the US has not taken into account the fundamental interests of the Palestinian people and he calls for the creation of an independent sovereign Palestinian state.

During the talks, Putin emphasized the need to implement decisions of the UN Security Council without specifying which decisions he is referring to. The recent attack by Hamas on Israel involved missiles and soldiers infiltrating Israeli territory, resulting in hundreds of Israeli and Palestinian deaths.

Interestingly, there is a significant Ukrainian community in Israel, with many of them being Jews who left Ukraine after the collapse of the Soviet Union. With the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Ukrainian refugees have also entered Israel, though the statuses and numbers are unclear.

Sadly, two Ukrainians have been killed in the conflict. According to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, around 450 Ukrainians are still in Israel and Gaza. The ministry is working to ensure their safety and well-being amidst the escalating tensions.

It is worth noting that Ukraine and Russia have had strained relations since Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the ongoing conflict in Eastern Ukraine. The presence of Ukrainians in Israel adds another layer of complexity to the situation.

As the conflict between Israel and Hamas continues to escalate, it is crucial for world leaders to address the underlying causes and work towards a peaceful resolution. President Putin’s critique of US policy highlights the need for a comprehensive approach that takes into account the interests of all parties involved, including the Palestinian people. The creation of an independent sovereign Palestinian state remains a contentious issue that requires careful consideration and diplomatic efforts.
