Qualcomm’s New Snapdragon X Elite CPU Performs on Par with High-End Intel and AMD Chips

Qualcomm is making waves in the tech world with its new Snapdragon X Elite CPU, as shared by Twitter user @techinmul. According to performance figures in Geekbench 6, the ARM CPU is holding its own against industry giants like Intel and AMD.

The Snapdragon X Elite scored an impressive 2,427 points in the single-core test and 14,254 points in the multi-core test. These results put it in line with Intel’s Core i7-13700HX, Core i9-13900H, and AMD’s Ryzen 9 8945HS CPUs.

In head-to-head comparisons, the Snapdragon X Elite outperformed Intel’s high-end Core i7 and i9 Raptor Lake mobile CPUs, as well as AMD’s top Ryzen 8000-series mobile CPUs. It surpassed the i9-13900H by 3.7% in single-core performance, 25.7% in multi-core performance, and even topped Apple’s M2 chip by 50% in peak multi-threaded performance.

Qualcomm is aiming for “best-in-class” multi-threaded performance with the Snapdragon X Elite, which is said to be 60% more performant than Intel’s i7-13800H while using only a third of the power. Additionally, it is claimed to be twice as fast as Intel’s i7-1355U and i7-1360P chips.

While Geekbench 6 results may not always paint a complete picture of real-world performance, they do suggest that Qualcomm is a force to be reckoned with in the PC landscape. Similar to Apple’s success with ARM CPUs, Qualcomm is proving that it can compete with top x86 chip makers in delivering powerful and efficient performance with the Snapdragon X Elite.
