The FBI says the human remains in Wyoming are likely to be Gabi Pettito
2 min readThe FBI reported today (19) that human remains have been found in the national forest in Probably Bridger Teton, Wyoming, by Gabe Pettito. She disappeared while on a car trip with her fiancé across the United States.
At a news conference on Sunday, the FBI said the body that was found was “consistent” with Pettito’s description. The investigation is ongoing because the identity will be confirmed through a DNA test.
The cause of death has not yet been released. Gabby’s friend Brian Laundry returned home on September 1 and refused to speak to the police about the case.
Last week, his family reported his disappearance to the authorities.
In a social media post, the North Harbor Police expressed their regret over Gabe’s death. “Our focus from the start has been to get her home,” the text reads. “We will continue to work with the FBI to find more answers.”
Gabe has not communicated with her family since August, when she visited Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. Earlier, locals told Fox News that Gabi Pettito is unlikely to survive for three weeks in the area, as temperatures dip below zero during the night and wild animals roam the area.
The search for Brian Laundrie continues in the Carlton Reserve.
He is considered one of the “persons relevant” to the investigation, according to the police, but he is not accused of committing any crimes.
