Coca does not rule out the presence of Diego Costa, Savarino and Keno in Atletico x Palmeiras
2 min readCoach Coca did not rule out the possibility that Diego Costa would defend Atletico in the second leg of the Copa Libertadores semi-final against Palmeiras next Tuesday. The 32-year-old felt discomfort in the back of his left thigh and was in doubt about the match at Mineiro scheduled for 21:30.

Diego Costa complained of pain last Tuesday, during the 0-0 draw with Palmeiras at Allianz Parque, in the first leg of the semi-finals. Officially, Atlético is hiding the seriousness of the problem and content with informing him that the attacker is undergoing extensive treatment in order to be available in Mineiro.
Diego’s place substitutes if he can’t play, forwards Kino (Virus) and Savarino (in transition to action with the ball after recovering from a muscle injury in his right thigh) are in doubt. The triple attack was the subject of a question for Coca on Saturday. In response, the coach hoped that everyone would be against Palmeiras.
“There is still plenty of time (until the match). Tomorrow (Sunday), we will do the reassessment. They are developing very well, the three of them. I will not rule anything out. Let’s wait until the last minute,” the captain said after the 0-0 draw with Sao Paulo, in Morumbi, in the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship.
With a goalless draw at Allianz in the first match, Atlético needs a win in Mineiro to reach the final of the continental championship. The new 0 to 0 makes the penalties decision. Defeat Vinegra and draw by any other result in favor of Palmeiras.
