The United States is once again trying to deport Julian Assange

You United States Filed another handover request from the WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange. At this point, the U.S. court agreed that the journalist would serve the sentence set by the British.

He returned to the dock in London on Wednesday (27). According to prosecutors, Assange did not appear in the first part of the trial because his mental health did not allow it. However, in the afternoon he followed the process by video conference.

The US government has filed a lawsuit against WikiLeaks for publishing a series of documents and videos on the country’s military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq in 2010 and 2011. The U.S. military has said hundreds of civilians were killed in what became known as the Cold War.

In Iraq, according to documents, the United States was responsible for the deaths of 66,000 civilians and tortured prisoners.

According to the US government, Assange conspired to seize the material and the release endangered the lives of the country’s military.

WikiLeaks’ founding lawyers say the process could affect politics, as well as press freedom.
