The United States plans to produce another billion vaccines each year with mRNA technology each year from 2022 to deal with the Covit-19 epidemic and future threats, officials said Wednesday.
“The goal of this project is to expand production to a capacity of 1 billion doses per year, with production set to begin in the second half of 2022,” White House Epidemiology Coordinator Jeff Giants told a news conference.
To achieve this goal, the Department of Health is seeking the interest of companies with experience in the manufacture of MRNA vaccines and to identify opportunities to increase their productivity, he said.
According to Giants, the program will allow the United States to help other countries, while providing greater levels for the American people.
This Wednesday, Washington sent 250 million doses free of charge to 110 countries, “more than all the other countries combined,” the coordinator noted.
“This project will enable us to identify the future pathogen and produce the dose within six to nine months,” he added.

According to US media reports, Biden is set to announce the purchase of 10 million antiviral treatments against Kovit-19.
The United States has lost more lives to the virus than any other country in the world, with more than 760,000 deaths to date, and according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the daily moving average continues to record an average of 1,000 deaths.
