A shipment of Ukrainian grain enters Russian waters

a The specialized website Marine Traffic, which allows monitoring of maritime traffic in real time, reported that Zebek Zuli, which was docked in the Black Sea port of Karasu, gave its latest signal about 20 kilometers from the Turkish coast.

According to a senior Turkish official, the ship “entered Russian territorial waters, but did not approach any port,” at the moment.

The Turkish news agency, Dubai Health Authority, reported that the cargo ship had stopped a “transponder”, the device used to track ships at sea.

Ukrainian authorities regret that the boat may leave the Turkish coast, and they demand an explanation from Ankara.

“We regret that the Russian ship Zybek Zuli, laden with stolen Ukrainian grain, was allowed to leave the port of Karasu despite the evidence (…) presented to the Turkish authorities,” Ukrainian diplomatic spokesman Oleg Nikolenko wrote on the social networking site Twitter. .

“The Turkish ambassador in Kyiv will ask for clarification of this unacceptable situation,” the spokesman added.

And the Russian diplomacy acknowledged, on Wednesday, that Turkish inspections are underway on the ship, and the Russian news agency TASS quoted a crew member, as saying that the ship’s cargo will be transferred to another cargo ship, to allow the ship Zebek Zuli to sail again.

Ukraine, which accuses Russia of stealing its wheat crops, claims that the ship Zybek Zuli, which departed last Thursday from the Russian-occupied Ukrainian port of Berdyansk, was loaded with 7,000 tons of illegally obtained grain.

Since the beginning of the case, the Turkish authorities have been silent on this matter.
