Argentina’s Economy Minister submits President’s resignation

247 – Argentina’s new Economy Minister, Silvina Patakis, submitted her resignation to President Alberto Fernandez on Thursday 28. According to local press reports, the request was rejected.
Patakis was appointed on the 3rd of this month after the sudden resignation of Minister Martin Guzman amid an economic crisis.
On Thursday, Argentina’s central bank raised its benchmark interest rate by 8 percentage points to 60%, marking its seventh increase this year alone. Analysts expect the country’s inflation to exceed 80% in 2022.
