Boris Johnson succession row: see who the first candidates for UK PM are |  Globalism

The race to replace Boris Johnson as Prime Minister United kingdom Friday (8) began with the announcement of the first nominations.

Soila Braverman, Attorney General

Even before Johnson resigned, Soyla Braverman, the country’s attorney general, said on a TV show that she intended to run for office.

Soila, 42, has been an MP since 2015. Boris Johnson appointed her as attorney general in February 2020.

Her parents are immigrants (the father is a Kenyan and the mother is from Mauritius) and they have arrived United kingdom in the 1960s.

Labor opposition calls for early elections.

A government spokesman ruled out that possibility on Friday, telling reporters that Johnson “remains prime minister until there is a new leader of the party and the work of government will continue as long as that happens.”

Also according to a YouGov poll, 56% of Britons agree that Johnson should leave power now.
