Botafogo contributor John Textor admits the mistake and apologizes to Londrina: 'He insulted a very good club'

John Textor He admitted that he had misjudged. If I didn’t want to win titles, I’d buy LondrinaHe apologized to Parana Club. On his official website, the contributor to SAF From Botafogo I retracted a letter addressed to the president Philippe Bruchetwho posted Official note calling it “unhappy” Textor ad.

Read the note below:

Dear Mr. Brochet and the staff of the Londrina Sport Club:

Please accept my sincere apologies for an offhand comment that managed to convey the exact opposite of my feelings for Londrina. In the relative confusion of a live TV interview, in response to a question about how quickly we would like to play for titles, I was just trying to explain why I chose Botafogo, a newly promoted club, over a club (ie a club.) who currently play in the second division.

Citing Londrina as an example, it seemed like I despised the club and its community…and I’m sorry for that inclusion. In fact, as I mentioned, the reason Londrina was on the tip of my tongue in that moment was because I spent so much time thinking about the club and the community when I started looking at Brazil… and I was incredibly impressed with Londrina. , as a well-run club with a great history, which has the potential to become very important again with only a small investment. I also think Londrina is in a unique position to collaborate immediately with academic programs in the US, UK and Europe in general.

So that’s really the stupidity of my observation… While trying to make a simple observation about the short term versus the long term, the immediacy with which a newly promoted club can compete for the title, I managed to insult a very good club, in a beautiful community run by very capable people.

To be clear, I am a huge fan of Londrina and I sincerely apologize for any inadvertent disrespect for the kind people of a respectable club and vibrant community. If I can go back in time with this comment, I definitely will.

Best regards,

John Textor
