Brazil defeats Venezuela in the Copa America Women’s Championship
Last Monday, July 18, and Brazil had won Venezuela Ratio 4 to 0 for America’s Women’s Cup. The goals were scored by Pia Zanerato, Ari Borges and Debinha twice. As a result, the selection already guarantees a place in the semi-finals of the tournament. In all, there were three wins in three matches, 11 goals scored and nothing conceded.
The first half of the match was marked by Brazil’s control of the ball, with few chances created by opponents who did not make it past the midfield. Despite the control, the Brazilian team made little, only in the 22nd minute with the victory of Pia Zanerato.
In the second stage, with changes by Gabi Portillo and Duda Francelino in the places of Keroline and Adriana, Brazil showed their consistency and took advantage of every opportunity created to finish the match. It is noteworthy that until the match against the Brazilian national team, Venezuela was 100% in competition with regard to the defense system.
Pia Sundaj commented on the match. “I was happy with the way the players communicated today. Deppinha created a lot of space for her teammates. We scored great goals and got the points and we are ready to face Peru and the semi-finals.”
And the next Brazil match will be on Thursday (21), at 9 pm, against Peru.
