Find the missing number in the star
The challenge of missing a star in a star is huge on the internet and although many people are trying, there are few who can get the answer right. So, will you join a small group of people who will emerge victorious from this game?
Well, the challenge goes like this: you will see three yellow stars in the image below with red numbers around them and a black number in the middle. However, the third star has a question mark in the middle and your task is to select the number you want. So take a look at the picture and remember that you need to use logic to find the answer.
Did you find the answer? We’ll put the correct number below, but before that, in case you haven’t come to a conclusion about the number yet, we’ve got some tips to help solve the puzzle.
Tips to solve the challenge
To get to the missing number, you first need to understand the logic behind the numbers in the center of the star. Here we go: the middle number is the result of a subtraction after the sum of the numbers distributed.
If you add the numbers on the lower ends to the numbers on the upper ends and subtract the numbers on the side ends, you get the answer from the number in the middle. For example, in the first star we have 4 + 8 + 2 = 14, and 3 + 7 = 10, i.e. 14-10 = 4.
In the second star, we have 6 + 4 + 2 = 12 and 1 + 9 = 10, so the number in the center indicates the subtraction 12-10 = 2. Now that we understand the logic of the thing, try to find the missing number (or confirm your answer).
Well, without further ado, the missing number on the last star is 10, because we have the following calculation: 8 + 6 + 4 = 18 and 5 + 3 = 8, so the subtraction would be 18-8 = 10. Simple, no it ?! If you are right, congratulations! Otherwise, don’t be sad, keep doing this type of exercise to strengthen your logical thinking skills.
