Down to earth and passionate Kayo (Kawa Raimon) I decided to help Allen (Barbara Reese) Secretly to obtain seeds for the first plantations on their land after her husband was killed by order Antonio La Silva (Tony Ramos).
Certainly the help was from Daniel (Johnny Massaro)The protagonist is surprised – and disappointed – to learn that the boy’s brother devised the plan.
Advised by the lawyer, the widow seeks out Cayo to thank him, but the pair eventually fight.
Fumbling for words, the boy, not knowing how to handle the situation, ends up, unintentionally, insulting Allen.
In the conversation, Aline asked about Caio’s intention to help her and he didn’t have the courage to say the real reason:
“Because I felt sorry… I was in a bad position. Without money, with a son… Um… That’s it, I felt sorry,” says the boy who falls in love with the young woman.
The widow says she doesn’t like people feeling pity on her and Caio makes a joke: “I have the heart of an angel…”.
The comment makes Allen even more upset:
“I came here to thank you, but you… you’re making fun of me. You’re insulting me.”
Caio becomes more confused with the words: “There’s no reason to be grateful. I wanted to help out of pity. It didn’t even tickle my pocket.”
Aline is offended by the attitude of Antonio’s son and vows to the boy:
“The worst thing is to pity those who need it, to show them they can do more, to humiliate them. I’ve always studied… I’ve struggled… I’ve taken care of myself.”
“Listen carefully. I will sow the corn seed you gave me, and I am grateful… It will bear fruit. And one day I want to return every sack, every little seed…”.
Caio says he doesn’t need Allen’s money: “To me, it’s rubbish.”
Cayo regrets it and tries to justify himself, but Allen does not listen to the boy:
“I didn’t want to humiliate you, I was embarrassed, I didn’t know how to act, I said what I shouldn’t have… Forgive me. I’m an ass.”
