Cruzeiro is redirecting the departure of Matheus Dafoe, who was not registered in Serie A

Bypassed from Cruzeiro’s list of entrants in the Serie A dispute in Brazil 2023, Matheus Dafoe should not remain in Toca da Raposa II after the season.

If Cruzeiro decides to release Dafoe, he will have little time to be organized into the Brazilian Football Confederation’s (CBF) Daily Newsletter (BID) by his new club. That’s because the transfer window closes on Thursday (20/4).
However, if Dafoe misses the deadline and continues on Cruzeiro, he can be registered in Brazil until August 25 – the deadline for such a procedure.

Dafoe did not take off on Cruzeiro
The scenario for the number 88 jersey has not changed after the change in technical leadership in Raposa, in March.
With Peppa, Dafoe only participated in the second half of the friendly match against Bragantino, at the Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium, in Braganca Paulista. He was left out of the list to face Náutico, in the third stage of the Copa do Brasil, and Corinthians, in the first round of the Brazilian championship.
In Cruzeiro’s attack, Dafoe faced direct competition from the absolute position Gilberto. On the field, the favorites of the Portuguese coach are still Wesley and Bruno Rodriguez.
