2 min readIn a desperate attempt to provide much-needed aid to Palestinians in Gaza, the Jordanian air force conducted a dramatic airdrop of food supplies over the region. The airdrop comes as Israel continues to restrict the flow of aid through the sole working land border, leaving many in Gaza facing a severe food crisis.

The Save the Children CEO raised concerns about the difficulties in delivering aid to Gaza, where access to food, basic supplies, and medical care remains extremely limited. Reports have even emerged of premature infant deaths due to the lack of medical resources.
To address the dire situation, Jordan conducted airdrops of military meals-ready-to-eat for Gaza’s population, with participation from countries like France, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. In a controversial move, Israel has accused U.N. agency workers of participating in an attack, leading to funding cuts for aid efforts. Efforts are now underway to restore funding and improve access at border crossings to ensure much-needed aid can reach those in Gaza who are in desperate need. The international community must come together to support the people of Gaza during this critical time.
