3 min readWith the return of Rodrigo Caio and a goal by Jewel Laurent, Flamengo tied with Bango, today 1-1, in the fourth round of the Carioca Championship. Red-Black was left behind, with a goal by Renateño, and sought a draw to remain undefeated in the state.
- Focusing on the Brazilian Super Cup dispute against Palmeiras, Flamengo picked the youngsters from the base.
- The team struggled against an organized bangu and had to punt after losing;
- Laurent, at 16 years old, became the youngest player to score for the red and black pros.
- It was the first time that a pro offensive quarterback scored for the Fla.
- Flamengo leads Carioca with 11 points. Bangu is in third place with eight.
The return of Rodrigo Cayo
- He was a regular starter and captain for Fla v Bango;
- He played his first game since July 2022, when he injured his knee.
- He was substituted 15 minutes into the second half to come on to Noga.
the game
Bango exchanged passes, pressed, and forced Flamengo fouls. The hosts complicated Robro Negro early in the game, building from defense when they had possession and pressing Flamengo players once they lost possession.
Rodrigo Caio misses the ball and Bango reaches the goal. The defender fumbled a pass close to the midfielder, which prompted Bangu to take on Matheos Cunha head-on. Vilizardo stopped the goalkeeper, but Renatinho did not forgive.
Flamengo wakes up in the second half and equalizes with a wonderful goal by Laurent. Thirsty for the ball, Robro Negro returned to the field, pressing the opponent into his own field, and that’s how they got to par, finishing with 16-year-old Al Jawhara’s corner.
Noga replaces Rodrigo Caio, but he injures himself and leaves the field in two minutes. The defender entered in the 14th minute of the second half, injured himself on his first shot with the ball and left in tears for Diego to enter.
