Hungarian PM urges US conservatives to 'join forces'

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Thursday urged US conservatives to “join” the fight against “progressives” and say that those who support globalization “can all go to hell” during a speech in Texas.

We have seen what kind of future the “ruling class” of globalization offers, “but we have a different future in mind” and they can all “go to hell,” he told the cheering crowd.

“We must coordinate the movement of our troops because we face the same challenge,” said the nationalist leader, who was invited to a rally of American conservatives in Dallas, where Donald Trump is expected to speak.

“Today’s progressives are trying to separate Western civilization from its Christian roots,” Orban charged, asserting that “the horrors of Nazism and Communism occurred because some Western countries in Europe abandoned their Christian values.”

Orban, 59, urged Washington and Brussels to “take back control of the institutions,” referring to midterm elections in the United States in November.

“I’m here to tell you that we have to join forces,” Orban said, calling on conservatives to “make their own rules” against “a culture war.”

On July 23, the Hungarian Prime Minister rejected the vision of a “diverse” society. “We don’t want to become mixed-race people”, mixing with “non-Europeans”, he declared, prompting criticism from the EU and the US.
