The basis for determining retirement and pension values in Brazil will be the minimum wage. When it increases, the benefits also increase.

People whose benefits reach one minimum wage (1,100 R$) will be paid their benefits between January 25 and February 7. Those who get a higher amount will have their money deposited between February 1st and 7th.

Today, the cumulative INPC rises by 9.36% between January and November 2021. However, the final indicator will only become official on January 11, when the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) releases the cumulative INPC through December.

Therefore, the exact amount under which the minimum wage and INSS benefits will be adjusted has not been communicated. The minimum salary is estimated to reach R$1,210 in 2022, while the maximum should reach R$7,076.93.

With the accelerating inflation, the current minimum wage has lost its value to the point that it is below the 2020 minimum. The R$1,100 set at the beginning of the year is worth about R$1,039 today, while last year the minimum was R$1,045.
