Kaio Souza wins three more World Cup medals | Artistic gymnastics
2 min readKaio Souza starred Sunday at the Croatia stage of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup. After Saturday’s bronze, on the parallel bars, Caio climbed to the podium three times on the second day of competitions, with gold on the set beam (14,300), silver on vault (14,683) and bronze on rings (13,933). Brazil has been on the podium twice, with Olympic medalists Arthur Nuri (silver on the flat bar with 14.166) and Arthur Zanetti (silver on the rings with 14.533).

The competition is a preparation for the World Championships scheduled for next October. Some of the major names in the sport have been in Croatia for the trophy, others saved themselves and just didn’t go, as is the case with Rebecca Andrade, Olympic and world champion.
On the fixed bar, there was a double for Brazil. Cayo won with 14,300 points, leaving Arthur Nouri in second place with 14,166 points. Caillou had a more complex test than Arthur, so much so that his starting score was 0.6 higher than that of his compatriot (6.3 to 5.7). The bronze went to Croatia’s Tim Serpic, also with 14.166, but was behind Nuri due to a performance score.
In the episodes, double on the catwalk. Arthur Zanetti won the silver with a score of 14.533 and the bronze with Kaio Souza with a score of 13.933. The two got a little worse than the qualifiers. The gold went to the Armenian Artur Avetisyan in the amount of 14,666.
On vault, Caio Souza averaged 14.683 and won the silver medal, behind only the current world champion, Artur Davtyan, who scored 15.033. Yuriy Guimaraes came fourth with 14.233 points, just 0.050 behind the bronze medal won by Kazakhstan’s Emil Akhmenayov.
