a King Charles III He decided to take his own pen to a cathedral in Wales on Friday after being frustrated by previous incidents that left his hand covered in ink.

The King and Queen Camilla visited the capital, Cardiff, and attended a religious event in honor of Queen Elizabeth II at Llandaff Cathedral.

At the end of the ceremony, the couple were invited to sign a guest book to celebrate their first visit to the country as king and consort of a queen.

Then Charles III took a fountain pen from his jacket and quietly signed the book “Charles R,” because “R” means rex, king in Latin. Then the king passed the book and pen to Camilla, who signed “Camilla R” directly below.

Having put the pen in his pocket, Charles walked down the aisle and out of the cathedral, where the crowd greeted him with applause.

After ink leaked from the pen he used at Hillsborough Castle, Northern Ireland, the British king revolted.

“Oh my God, I hate this. I can’t stand this damn thing,” he told Camilla, trying to wipe his ink-stained fingers.

Viewers quickly commented on social media when they realized he had brought his pen.

One user said: “Charles brought his pen to Wales. He’s clearly a quick learner.”

Another wrote: “I love how King Charles III brought his pen this time after the pen leak in Northern Ireland. God bless him.”
