Rio – Marcelo Anthony screams as he announces his intimate family. In an interview with the podcast “Papagaio Falante”, presented by Sergio Malandro and Renato Rabelo, the 57-year-old actor said that in 2003, when he adopted his son Francisco, now 19, he was infected with HIV.

He said, “He was HIV positive. He tested negative for me. They told me he could die at any time, so they asked me if I wanted to stay with him. I said, ‘He could die now.'” He’s my son.” Anthony adopted his infant son with his wife, Monica Torres, who separated in 2010.

Before telling the story, the actor highlighted how Francisco’s arrival changed his life. “When I looked at Francisco, my life changed. My psychologist at the time says I saw in him a little reflection of myself, in need of affection. My feeling was: ‘Where have you been all this time?'” ” He said.

Marcelo also commented that he didn’t talk about it publicly prior to the podcast. “I have never said this to anyone in my life (…) I said: This boy may die today or 100 years from now, but he is my son. After he came to me, he had no more problems. (…) Deep down , Love heals everything (…) ”, declared the actor. “Today he is a healthy, strong, very loving boy, he teaches me a lot, I learn a lot from him and from my other children,” the actor said, touching.

“Love is healed,” Malandro reiterated. “It was a miracle that happened in your life.”

Anthony continued the story, saying that Francisco came home with him on the first day he met him in an orphanage in the southern region of Rio. “I took him home, and he never left my life. (…) He was a mestizo, he had many health problems, no one was looking at him. He was always crying in his bed…in one month he was my final son.”

In addition to Francisco, the actor also adopted Stephanie, 22 years old. “On his heels came Stephanie, who took her at 5 and a half years old. I took the adoption process for a year and a half, because it was more complicated. It was more difficult,” he said. Marcelo Anthony is also the father of Lucas, 22, Lowe, 17, and Lorenzo, 11, from his second marriage to Carolina Anthony.
