NATO rejects upcoming military mission in Iraq

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance will not participate in the led by Canada’s military mission in Iraq. He said this to journalists after a meeting of the participating countries.

“We believe that it is better to prevent than to intervene… We don’t want to be dragged into a military operation in Iraq,” gave his words to RIA Novosti.

However, the vote has set in motion the creation of a group of “several hundred instructors” in charge of military operation in Syria.

Earlier, NATO leaders invited Macedonia to the talks on accession to the Alliance.
