One person was killed and 15 wounded in a Russian bombing in Mykolaiv

At around 11pm on Wednesday in Lisbon, air alerts were activated due to the approach of four S-300 surface-to-air missiles, according to preliminary information released by the governor on the Telegram platform.

The mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevich, said in Telegram that one of the missiles hit a multi-storey residential building, while another hit an isolated house.

More than half an hour after the first bombardment, the city’s anti-aircraft defenses are up and running again, and emergency services are continuing their work in the areas hit by the missiles.

Mykolaiv is located on the Black Sea, about 170 kilometers from Crimea, which Moscow annexed in 2014.

Russian forces have attacked the city repeatedly since they began their invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Another Russian bombing, on Tuesday, destroyed a museum and left two dead and ten injured in the center of the city of Kobyansk, in eastern Ukraine, in an attack that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described as “barbaric”.
