The 35-year-old said he tried to mediate negotiations between a group of Italian businessmen and Minas Gerais club.

Ramolo said that when this group of Italians approached him, he considered investing in Cruzeiro. According to the athlete, he will be one of the indirect partners of SAF, but the entry of Ronaldo Finmino into the business has caused a freeze in other negotiations.

SAF sale to Ronaldo

The agreement between Ronaldo and Cruzeiro was announced on December 18, 2021, when the two-time world champion with the Brazilian national team conducted a virtual broadcast alongside President Sergio Santos Rodriguez and Pedro Mesquita, President of XP Investimentos.

The negotiations were conducted secretly and without fanfare in the media, with the mediation of a financial brokerage. At the time of the announcement, Finmino had promised to invest R$400 million in the club over the next five years.

Despite the agreement, the purchase was not officially made until April of this year, after the deliberation board met some of Ronaldo’s demands.
