Seahawks and Leonard Williams Reach Agreement on New Contract

Seattle, WA – In a move that has been widely anticipated, defensive lineman Leonard Williams has agreed to a new deal with the Seattle Seahawks, as reported by NFL Media. The contract is for three years and worth $64.5 million.

Williams was acquired by the Seahawks in a midseason trade with the New York Giants, in exchange for a second-round and fifth-round pick. In his 10 games with the Seahawks, Williams proved to be a valuable asset on the defensive line, totaling 4.0 sacks, 41 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, and 11 quarterback hits.

The No. 6 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, Williams has had a productive career thus far, playing in 142 games with 133 starts for the New York Jets, Giants, and now the Seahawks. Throughout his career, Williams has recorded 43.5 sacks, 68 tackles for loss, and 173 quarterback hits.
