Shiv Telegram Media: Myths & Mortals update brings Fortnite back online after Fridays outage
1 min readFortnite’s highly anticipated Chapter 5: Season 2 launch, which was themed around Greek mythology, faced a delay on Friday as maintenance downtime extended well into the evening. Players were unable to log in or play even after being able to download updates after 9PM ET.
It was not until later in the evening that the Epic Games status page confirmed that everything was operational after the maintenance window. The v29.00 update eventually launched on Saturday morning, but reports of stability issues on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles were soon flooding in.
Some players found themselves dealing with repeated crashes and Epic Games even recommended clearing the cache on PS5 for those facing issues.
Fortunately, updates on March 8th revealed that the game was back online and ongoing issues were being addressed. Fans can now dive into the new Greek mythology-themed content, although some may still be experiencing technical difficulties. Stay tuned for further updates as Epic Games continues to work on resolving any remaining issues.
