The municipality of Saint-Césaire will be host to a major filming starting this Friday 15 February and in the coming weeks. Producer Benoit Pilon (What it takes to live, Iqaluit) chose to film the major part of his next feature film, Vinland.
It will feature Remy Girard, François Papineau, Fabien Cloutier, Sébastien Ricard and Émilie Bibeau.
The scenario takes place in Charlevoix, in 1949. Brother John, teacher, progressive which bothers his superiors, undertook to conduct archaeological excavations to prove the establishment of Vikings on the coast of the St. Lawrence river. This company will disrupt the life of the college and teintera the destiny of its students and of itself. The shoot takes place, in large part, to St. Joseph’s Home (the former convent of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary).
As it is a period film, car traffic on the street of Our Lady will be controlled during some days of filming, either on February 15 and 16, between 16 march and 5 April and 22 and 23 may.
Produced by Productions Avenida (The gang of outlaws), Vinland should be out in cinemas in the spring of 2020.
