The size of the national debt of Italy in March 2018 has reached another record level and has updated the historical maximum. According to the Central Bank of the country, the national debt rose to a level of € 2,302 trillion.
Earlier, in July 2017, the state external debt of Italy has already reached the maximum value. Then the size of the debt was 2.3 trillion euros.
Representatives of the Bankitalia report that the expenditure of the Italian state administration occurred in the period from February to March of the current year the sovereign debt had grown by more than 20 billion euros.
